Some games are so well created and become so addictive, that they should be banned. I’m joking, of course.
When I was in high-school, I was playing Worms on a Nokia. That game was silly as hell and addictive like no other at the time. And it wasn’t a complicated game with insane graphics.
You don’t need to have a high quality graphics game to make it popular. Nevertheless, here are some that I played lately and which I consider the best:

Choose one of five unique characters and join the elite team known as the Wolfpack, a task force assigned to combat the walking dead threat and discover the secret behind the cataclysmic plague.
Explore randomly generated worlds and build amazing things from the simplest of homes to the grandest of castles. Play in creative mode with unlimited resources or mine deep into the world in survival mode, crafting weapons and armor to fend off the dangerous mobs.
Craft, battle, and quest your way through Crashlands, an outlandish, story-driven Crafting RPG overflowing with sass!
